We are seeking a Survey Technician to support our land surveying operations through drafting, data processing, and technical analysis.
Position Overview
The Survey Technician works under the direction of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Project Manager and supports a wide range of survey projects, including boundary, right-of-way, topographic, and title surveys. This role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform survey calculations and prepare CAD drawings and supporting documents for:
- Boundary surveys
- Right-of-way surveys
- Topographic surveys
- Title surveys
- Plats and easements
- Review and interpret technical documents including deeds, plats, title reports, and construction plans
- Prepare survey data, calculations, and supporting exhibits
- Draft and process survey data using:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Trimble Business Center (preferred)
- Related survey software applications
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting schedule and budget requirements
- Coordinate with survey field crews, project managers, and engineers as needed
- Work under the supervision of an RPLS or Project Manager
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of land surveying office experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with Trimble Business Center (preferred)
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, drafting standards, and documentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
