Ally General Solutions, LLC (AGS) is a growing Engineering, Construction, and Land Surveying firm based in Houston, Texas. We support both public and private sector clients across the region and are expanding our surveying staff to support increased project demand.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Land Survey Technician to join our team.
Position Overview
The Senior Land Survey Technician works under the direction of a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Project Manager and plays a key role in boundary analysis, survey drafting, data processing, and coordination with field crews. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform survey calculations and prepare CADD drawings and related deliverables for:
- Boundary surveys
- ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Right-of-way (ROW) surveys
- Topographic surveys
- Title and easement exhibits
- Subdivision plats and engineering support documents
- Assist RPLS with boundary construction and analysis, including:
- Deed and plat research
- Corner analysis and boundary resolution per Texas law
- Review and interpretation of title commitments and reports
- Prepare plats and assist with the plat recordation process
- Draft metes and bounds descriptions and parcel exhibits
- Process and reduce field data, including static observations
- Prepare field crew assignments and staking information
- Attend field visits, scoping meetings, and QA/QC field walks as required
- Coordinate with survey technicians, engineers, project managers, and clients
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects within schedule and budget constraints
- Support public and private sector projects, including TxDOT and local municipalities
Land Surveying Experience
- Deed research and title review
- Boundary analysis and calculations
- Field data processing and reduction
- Drafting ALTA/NSPS and topographic surveys
- Easement and ROW exhibits
- Subdivision plats and general subdivision process knowledge
Route & Transportation Survey Experience
- TxDOT and local municipality survey requirements
- ROW mapping and acquisition surveys
- Abstract mapping and parcel mapping
- Survey control plans
- Digital terrain models (DTMs)
- Design surveys and plan production
Software Proficiency
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
- Trimble Business Center
- Trimble Access
- Microsoft Office Suite
(Experience with Carlson Survey a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- C.S.T. Certification
- S.I.T. Certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a survey technician performing boundary analysis
- Familiarity with Harris County, HCTRA, HCFCD, City of Houston, TxDOT, and other local agencies
